About Us

The FAMU-FSU College of Engineering Student Chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers is student lead and driven. Our community provides resources for students to feel supported academically, professionally, and socially.

This chapter meets weekly for general body meetings and large tutoring events. These events target the passions and needs of our members.

We are also committed to giving back to the community. Participation in various S.T.E.M. outreach events with a local elementary school, and the Challenger Learning Center is critical to our development.

In the last year we have hosted professional development events such as our ‘Career Fair Help Session,’ as well as undergraduate research panels encouraging university research involvement. A variety of roles as a chemical engineer have been showcased through internship panels, industry speaker panels, information sessions, and facility tours.

AIChE is the world's leading organization for chemical engineering professionals, with more than 60,000 members from more than 110 countries. The student chapter at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering is a completely student-run organization. As a student chapter of AIChE, we are dedicated to promoting and preserving the aspirational statement and mission of AIChE through our general body meetings and events.

The objectives of our student chapter are to foster an inclusive and friendly spirit of cooperation within the chemical engineering program, serve the surrounding Tallahassee community, and advance our understanding of chemical engineering all while maintaining a high professional standard.
